shared
the Fifth Avenue studio in New York
with his brother,
Pietro.
Caruso apparently had more talent
than his voice. He gave
Pietro a sketch
of the artist dated as a 1914 creation.
Late that
year Caruso was to be a special guest
at a war sufferers' benefit at
Pietro's studio,
but newspaper accounts of the era
chronicled a riot
that resulted from Pietro's
promise of a free benefit concert by
Caruso.
